                                                          Church School

St Marys is Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School with an attached Pre-School.

We are committed to our Christian ethos within the school.  Our policies and values reflect our Christian commitment and our inclusion of all pupils regardless of their Faiths.

Collective worship is at the centre our school week which is led by the Rev. Joan Rowe, head teacher and other members of staff. On the First Monday of each term, parents are invited in to school to participate in the act of worship.

Our collective worship includes prayer, reading of a scripture, singing of hymns, the lighting of a candle and a period of silence to allow the children to reflect on their thoughts.

As a church school we have strong links with the local church. Children and parents are invited into the church regularly through the year to participate in a variety of services, including, Christmas, Harvest Festival, Easter and Leavers service.

As a church school we also have a Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools or SIAS. We were found to be a good school with some outstanding features.
